Asset Overview
The X-4 Enforcer is a functional replica of the Skyranger, a Mach 5 / sub-orbital capable, vertical landing dropship that ferries X-Com squads around the world.
A few changes have been made in respect to aesthetics and functionality based on the parts available in the stock version of Kerbal Space Program 1.0.4, namely enclosing VTOL jet engines in a streamlined fairing to avoid aerodynamic drag, and using a Space Shuttle (Mk3) cockpit in lieu of X-Com's hull design.
While ungainly in appearance, this ship has a thrust to weight ratio of "insane" and absolutely does exceed Mach 4 in the upper atmosphere, where aerodynamic drag is greatly reduced. It does however burn an enormous amount of fuel getting there (because it IS fat!).
