Asset Overview
This model depicts the tissues present at the mandibular symphysis of a 3 month old Alligator mississippiensis. The alligator mandibular symphysis is a complex joint, housing bone, teeth, cartilage, ligament, and neurovasculature. The arrangement of these tissues reflects the influence of mechanical stresses associated with feeding behaviors. Model and histology data can be found at OSF-Crocnet (https://osf.io/jmpck/) and histology images (https://osf.io/arntd/).
