*Lithostrotion* corals are a genus of rugose coral. Originally collected from Kentucky before become part of The Charleston Museum collection, this fossil is evidence of the extent the oceans covered what would be North America. This specimen still has a tentative number (ChM 1198) and is in the process of being an issued a formal catalog number. *Lithostrotion* corals are all extinct by the end of the Paleozoic era approximately 251 million years ago.
