**ChM PV4768 ** - *Pelagornis sandersi* *Pelagonis sandersi* is the largest known bird capable of flight. This specimen was found at the Charleston International Airport in February 1983 by a volunteer for The Charleston Museum. *P. sandersi* was formally described in 2014* and named in honor of the Museum’s former curator. The original fossils are stored in a secure area in The Charleston Museum and include the skull seen in this scan as well as wing elements, ribs, and assorted fragmentary remains. *Ksepka 2014: https://www.pnas.org/content/111/29/10624/
