This fossil is along the Daemonelix trail at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument in Nebraska. Normally enclosed within a protective Plexiglas covering (not unlike a phonebooth), the enclosure was dismantled to complete the photography. Daemonelix is the distinctive burrow associated with Paleocastor, which was a Beaver relative from the Miocene (about 22 million years old) but was more like modern prairie dogs. This model was made using the photogrammetry software PhotoScan Professional.
