Asset Overview

The Egyptian vulture is a summer species, which can generally be seen in Portugal from the end of February or beginning of March. It is therefore one of the first migratory species to reach the mainland. It is present in the nesting areas from March to September. Once a common species, this vulture became progressively scarcer and today it is a relatively rare bird, with its main breeding nucleus in the northeast of Trás-os-Montes. It mainly frequents steep valleys, where it nests.
