For Assignment 4 - INFR 3345U
For our 3rd Year GDW project, Gnome Nightmare.
I used PBR to texture all of my mesh, but the original result was very too clean. In our game, we have our characters fighting for their lives, so why not give them some battle scars?
I decided to test out some of the preset dirt / scratch brushes. This is where I think 3D-Coat truly shines. It gave the model an effect like she had been diving around and getting covered in dirt or soil, which fits our game's location perfectly. Other than wear/tear effects, I found that I liked how most of the clothes came out. Overall, there were a few errors, but he overall result was good.
I’m definitely going to go back and do some heavy changes in photoshop, like giving her realistic skin and adding in texture detailing like her chains, hair, underwear, and her school insignia on her sweater. PBR is not a perfect solution and I suspect I'll be revisting Jacky a lot in the coming months to finalize aspects of her texture work.
