Asset Overview
This is a 3D model I created from CT Scans (roughly 400 slices). This small fish (1 1/2" long) is a new species of Snailfish found in Alaska in 2000.
Etymology.—The genus name Lopholiparis is derived from the Greek "lopho", meaning ‘‘crested’’referring to the unique hard bony ridges on thehead, and "liparis", meaning ‘‘snailfish.’’ Gender:masculine
