This project’s focus was obviously the rabbit and it’s animation. I like doing these types of animals by tracing a reference image and extruding the result. It’s super easy as long as you have a good reference. The thing that takes the most time is the animation of course. I love using IK handles since they make experimenting with poses so much faster. Really, the hardest thing was weight painting. You can see the errors in the bunny chest as it moves off the ground. It’s another lesson in adding geometry to the places that need it. I think this is part of the reason it is highly encouraged to keep everything quads; because it’s so much easier to add an edge loop and fix animation errors.
