Asset Overview

Mako shark that was killed by fisherman. Almonta Beach, Coffin Bay National Park, South Australia. Photogrammetry Survey conducted at 10:55 am on January 19th, 2022 Body Length - 2855 mm Body Width - 520 mm Pectoral Fin Length - 585 mm R&L Height of Tail Fin - 790 mm Base of Dorsal Fin - 300 mm Height of Dorsal Fin - 320 mm A. Fin - 100 mm Jaw Width - 230 mm Jaw Length - 250 mm Longest Tooth - 25 mm 10 Gills Total Sex - Female Eyes were missing, presumably cut out by fisherman. At this point in time, there was no decomposition. No smell, soft belly. Bloodstains around mouth On Jan 21st, we revisited the Mako and found that most of the teeth had been pulled out, the shark had begun to decompose (and smell), and the stomach had begun to bloat.
