This is a 3D model of a Stegomosuchus longipes fossil that was discovered in the late 19th century. This reptile ancestor would have been present in the Early Jurassic period. This fossil can be found at the Beneski Museum in Amherst Massachusetts. We thank Hayley Singleton and Tim Pinault for facilitating and funding this work. Josh Moyer performed the photogrammetry scan.
The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality. Animator Robert Gutierrez used Blender to reconstruct the details of the fossil from these scans.
