No normal maps!
This is a highly decimated matcap (imported textures were blue for some reason?) version of a quick test I did in zbrush using an awesome plugin called Zwrap by R3DS. I used a scanned head and deformed it to a bust I sculpted in Zbrush. There is some stretching at the chin, but this whole thing took me under a day to make, the actual zwrap workflow took under 15 minutes. It turned out outstandingly well for the time I put into it. I highly reccomend it, especially for production. (You can also make the topology of a high poly scanned head clean to make easy-to-process digi-doubles, just add some points and it will solve the topology in literal SECONDS.)
