Asset Overview

The Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus), native to Australia, is arguably one of the planet’s most unusual mammals. This egg-laying, duck-billed, beaver-tailed, otter-footed mammal bewildered early naturalists and the first scientists to examine a preserved platypus assumed it was a fake composed of several animals sewn together. Not that it needs further bizarre characteristics, but it also uses electrolocation, has biofluorescent fur, and males possess ankle spurs capable of delivering a powerful venom.
