Cranium (without mandible) of a raccoon (*Procyon lotor*). Raccoons are nocturnal, omnivorous mammals native to North America. They are easily recognized by their gray coat, black facial mask, and ringed tail. Their intelligence and front paw dexterity have allowed them to adpat to urban existence though their natural habitat is deciduous and mixed forest.
