I am a third year game development student at Falmouth University specialising in character art. Through competing in the Grads in Games Search For A Star (SFAS) brief I hoped to kick start my professional portfolio while trying to break into the games industry.
The brief for the character category was to produce a fully textured character model, rigged and posed for use within the Unreal4 (UE4) engine. There was no poly budget given but from looking at other professional characters, I decided that keeping my tri count to around 40,000 would be ideal considering any props that would have to accompany the model.
