Asset Overview
A remarkably large so called simple shaft-hole axe from Hol parish, Västergötland. This type of axe dates to the Late Neolithic, c:a 2300-1700BC. The simple shaft-hole axes were generally used as working axes used to cut trees or other wooden elements. However, this particular axe measures more than 30 cm in length, and it is questionable if it was manufactured for a practical purpose.
