Some time ago I met a very shy underwater creature face to face. It was diving at the island of Lastovo. The animal was almost at my hand. It stopped about half a meter from me. It flashed with colors, lights, and looked like a spaceship. It was looking at me with contemplative eye to see if I was a danger or an overgrown prey. It was a sepia. After exploring me, she fired literally like a rocket into the deep blue sea.
But sometimes I don't need to go far for inspiration. Under a microscope, I watched plankton from czech ponds. I was surprised by Cladocera (water flea). Their etheric bodies are naturally transparent, like X-rays. With my breath held, I could watch their heartbeat.
These fascinating creatures are gently carried by water streams as in zero gravity.
I am wondering what kind of life would look like on another planet where low gravity would be needed and the water floated like bubbles in the air.
