This low-poly model was created for an assignment and had to follow a steampunk theme. For the design I took inspiration from old-fashioned steam locomotives as well as reference images of other steampunk robots.
To create the base mesh I used subdivision modelling to create low and high poly versions, the latter of which had its detail baked onto the low poly mesh within Substance Painter 2. I also used Substance to texture the robot and add additional normal detail. This was my first attempt at using emissive maps and I am quite pleased with how they turned out.
