The Skarbink aka.The Treasurer is a character from Slavic mythology which describes an old man with long gray hair and beard dressed in gray/black robes who lives in mines and underground passages as guardians of precious gemstones and metals. He guides miners in the dark mines to avoid dangers that lay within and when lost, helps them find their way back home. The origins of the Treasurer is believed to have been a spirit of a deceased veteran miner who chose to work as a guardian of the mines in the afterlife. However, in some regions he is also believed to be a demon who takes vengeance upon unruly miners who disrespects the rules of the mines or those who have guilt of betraying fellow miners.
