* Period/Epoch: Triassic * Rock Formation: Popo Agie Fm. * State, County: WY, Natrona * This specimen was found on Federal Land managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Taxonomy: Reptilia>Thecodontia>Rauisuchidae>Heptasuchus clarki Heptasuchus clarki was a species of pseudosuchian reptile from the Triassic of modern-day North America. Pseudosuchians are closely related to dinosaurs and pterosaurs, differing only in how their ankles function. The only modern group of Pseudosuchians that exist are crocodilians. Heptasuchus clarki was hypercarnivorous and terrestrial, and could have been close to 5 meters long at adult size. Scanned with the David SLS-2
