There is molecular evidence for *Lepus* appearing approximately 8.6 million years ago in the late Miocene in Eurasia. Hares and jackrabbits are different from true rabbits in having babies that can fend for themselves, larger body sizes, and jointed skulls. This specimen is a humerus. Scanned with the David SLS-2
