Asset Overview

* Period/Epoch: Paleogene / Eocene * Rock Formation: Green River Formation * State, County: WY, Lincoln Taxonomy: Osteichthyes>Perciformes>Pomacentridae>Priscacara serrata Priscacara serrata was an Eocene perch fish from Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. The deposit this specimen was found in, the Green River Formation, is well-known for its fine preservation of skeletal and soft tissue of the animals within. While this species was the larger of the two species of Priscacara within this deposit, it has been found in much smaller numbers. This specimen preserves much of the skeleton, with a carbonized outline of the body shape. Scanned with the David SLS-2
