Both the Atlantic and Pacific walruses are knows for their large, strong tusks that enable then to defend themselves and manuever over obstacles. They also have flippers and weigh over a ton. Walruses live up to 40 years and don't produce offspring very often so they spend a lot of time with their babies and are very protective of them.
