Asset Overview
A Serpent, a distant ancestor of the tuba. The instrument is claimed to have been invented by Canon Edmé Guillaume in 1590 in Auxerre, France. It was replaced in the 19th century by the Ophicleide, and later on by the Euphonium and tuba, so the Serpent dropped off into popularity.
