Asset Overview
This tombstone memorializes Henry Thompson (aka Enrico di Tomaso), an opera singer born in 1857 near Soquel. He traveled the world and ended his career in Santa Cruz. He sang throughout Europe and America.
He married Lottie in Santa Cruz in 1892. She had partial ownership, and eventually full ownership, of a number of cottages near the sea, which she eventually willed to the city of Santa Cruz and which have since been turned into a relatively affordable hostel.
Henry and Lottie sang at many local venues and events.
The top of this monument has broken off, so much of Henry's name is absent.
