Braeburn - Apfel

Braeburn is a variety of cultivated apple that originally comes from New Zealand. The bicoloured, medium-sized apple is crunchy and has a complex sweet-tart aroma that is particularly popular with Europeans. The apple was discovered as a chance seedling in 1952, but has only been grown on a commercial scale since the early 1990s. In recent years, cultivation has also increased in other regions with long growing seasons, and it is grown commercially in Chile, the United States and southern Europe. Braeburn ist eine Sorte des Kulturapfels, die ursprünglich aus Neuseeland stammt. Der zweifarbige mittelgroße Apfel ist knackig und hat ein komplexes süß-herbes Aroma, das insbesondere bei Europäern beliebt ist.Der Apfel wurde 1952 als Zufallssämling entdeckt und wird seit Anfang der 1990er kommerziell angebaut. In den letzten Jahren hat auch der Anbau in anderen Regionen zugenommen. Er wird in Chile, den Vereinigten Staaten und dem südlichen Europa angepflanzt.
