A good friend of mine loves milk tea (and for that matter I enjoy it too) and he inspired me to make a prop for his character to hold and drink from. The prop is fully rigged for animating - the perals and the straw move independently from the cup.
The sparkles are planes (with culled backfaces) and a custom material that fades it in and out based on the camera's view vector. They add a fun little sparkle to the render!
It's not ideal for games because the perals add too many polygons that would be reasonable plus the cup and the drink inside are separate meshes (to give a really convincing plastic cup look). If needed I could bake the pearls into a texture, remove the plastic cup mesh, and then it'd be solid for use in games or VR Chat.
