Asset Overview
All Saints’ Day treat
At the beginning of September almonds are collected, a task that brings all the family together, both the young and the elderly. Almond tree branches are shaken with a cane and the almonds fall to the ground.
At the end of October, following this Catalan tradition, almonds are used to prepare a special dessert called ‘panellets’, usually mixed with seasonal fruit like quince, walnuts or pine nuts.
These homemade treats are traditionally eaten on the All Saints’ Day, together with chestnuts and sweet wine.
