Scanned using Scaniverse, this model was created to test the way that the program captured varing levels of shine and light reflection across an uneven surface. Knowing how the lidar can render such varying reflective surfaces can help inform the Digital Archaeology Lab about the ways that it may work on artifacts that we recovery that also have varying amounts of reflectivity across an uneven surface. This is particularly helpful for us when we consider the fact that most of what we document are historical archaeological artifacts and - as such - they have a high likelihood of combining shine with uneven surfaces.
