Asset Overview

A traditional bagel is a bread product originating in the Jewish communities of Poland. It is shaped by hand into the form of a ring from yeasted wheat dough, roughly hand-sized, that is first boiled for a short time in water and then baked. This bagel is of the Eastern style, which is salty, hard and small and is known as Abadi bagels. The bakery started as a small home bakery of the Abadi family in Aleppo, Syria, established in 1838, and produced mostly salty cookies, which became popular among the residents of the area. In 1928, the family immigrated to Israel, and soon after, Eliyahu Abadi opened a bakery in the family home. Size: Aprox. 3.5 x 1.2 cm.
