Shiitake from Stump

Innoculated stump... This mushroom farm was about spent and these mushrooms were allowed to go to spore on paper towels. Those spore covered towels are stored dry and put into a watering can with a spoon of some sugar and a spoon of ash from the BBQ or wood fire for the alkali. Watering leaves, wood, compost, bark, wood chips, cardboard, rice hulls, straw, and manuer all can work out. In this case the spore covered spent garden was placed into the hollow stump and these eventually came up. I will inoculate some logs sometime too.
