Le Cyclope pottery was situated in Annecy-le-Vieux in the Haute Savoie region of France. It was named after the Rocher du Cyclope - a well known mountain peak in the area. It was located in the old "Adami" quarry and was in operation from 1948. In 1961 Charles Cart registered the brand name La Poterie d'Annecy. In 1963 the brand "Le Cyclope, émaux des glaciers, émaux des neiges was registered.
Cart came from Thonon and was said to have been a scrap merchant who turned to pottery during the Second World War. Between 1958 and 1973 the pottery employed 3 or 4 potters depending on demand - these included Maurice Antonioz, André Ravaud, André Verrien and Jacky Lyard. The company closed in 1980. Production was generally for the local tourist market, with some utilitarian ware - serving plates, goblets, egg cups.
