Asset Overview

Takes what I've learned from the Baking Normal Maps course on CGCookie and applies it to the Modelling a Saucer exercise on the Mesh Modelling Bootcamp course. The saucer is made from a 8 sided cylinder primitive with three edge loops for shaping and two edge loops to support quads on the end caps. Then using the high poly version of the saucer to bake out the normals for the details. A subsurf modifier is used to improve the sillhoute for viewing from medium range. I had a bit of difficulty baking the bevels for the rounded edges of the saucer, to improve this model I would take a look into techniques to tackle this.
