Package Overview

This second set of Roman era kitchen utensil contains 8 historically accurate items; Bacino, Glass, Pitcher, Cup, Censer, Mortar, Olla amphora and Plate. These objects are based on artifacts found in excavations in several parts of Italy (Rome, Pompeii) were the normal endowment of the Pompeian and Roman kitchens. Their appearance is approximately of I° century a.c to arrive at III , IV century d.c.


Several authors (Apicio, Giovenale, Petronio, Columella, Plinio il Vecchio ) have described the ingredients and preparation of ancient Roman cuisine and these objects are part of their description.


NOTE


  • In this set, terracotta material was deliberately used for the objects as they could also be bronze, silver, tin, glass, etc. according to the Roman historical period. Research is left to the user for this purpose to create their own materials as needed. An example is given by the Glass, which could be of silver, bronze, terracotta and in the late Roman period of glass etc.
  • The objects could have different dimensions and sizes according to the Roman historical period, and for popular or aristocratic use. It is up to the user to recreate the dimensions in accordance with the historical and social period. An example is given by the cup. It could have three dimensions according to the food to be brought to the table (olives, fruit, dates, anchovies, capers)
  • In all objects a single and large texture of 4096x4096 is used to waste as little as possible the use of resources.
