"Long live Sino-Soviet friendship!"
This cheerful poster from Maoist China celebrating Chinese-Soviet Socialist solidarity readily lends itself to being seen as a depiction of a bi-national, multi-racial same-sex couple. Peaches have a wealth of symbolic meanings in traditional Chinese culture and "the divided peach" is a classical phrase referring to homosexuality. It is my hope that as China continues to develop economically, LGBT people in China will become freer to live their lives openly and have their relationships recognized and respected by society and the state. (And the same for Russia, where LGBT people's lives are increasingly restricted and imperiled.)
I created this low-poly scene for the Household Props Challenge as a means of learning Blender. This particular assignment was to model a poster; to make it more interesting, I created this scene.
