Practicing Blender particle systems by amking a simple little snowflake patterned bowl.
The snowflake particle was made by link-duplicating a plane and trotating it 5 times to fit into 6 degrees symetry, then extruding, splitting and merging verts into a snowflake shape. After merging and removing duplicates this was then used by the particlke system to cover a weight painted portion of the bowl model [deformed and loop cut cylender mesh] with a scattering of snowflakes. Rotation options allowed the snowflakes to stick out along the normals of the bowl faces.
