Asset Overview

**Location:** Camino del Camping, Las Negras, Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Spain **Longitude:** 2°00'22.4"W **Latitude:** 36°52'21.5"N Heavily altered (argillic alteration) dacitic ignimbrite, overlain by the basal layers of the Tortonian-Messinian sedimentary sequence. A large part of the outcrop is covered by colluvium (which here forms surfaces resistant to erosion, due to the presence of caliche) and by a thin veneer of unstable debris (which at times can be completely washed off by large storms).
