Asset Overview

The [Carlos Avery WMA](http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/wildlife/areas/carlos_avery_wma.html) is a huge, 25,000 acre (101 km sq) in central Minnesota, USA. WMA (Wildlife Management Areas) preserved for hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation. It is an important home for waterfowl and has over 11,700 acres (50 km sq) of wetlands. Our dog found this dead coyote next to a parking lot in the Carlos Avery. Based on the amount of decomposition it was likely killed in the late fall or early winter of 2016. Its body was probably dumped when the hunter who shot it decided they didn't want to take it home. (Coyotes can be hunted any time of year without a permit in MN.) Much of the soft parts, like the eyes, are gone but the basic structure is still intact. 39 images, shot with a Moto G3 in the Carlos Avery Wildlife Managment Area, near Stacy, Minnesota, USA.
