Asset Overview

Mount Teide is the highest point in Spain at 3718m and a stratovolcano which last erupted in 1909. The Teide volcanic complex started to form 200,000 years ago and now consists of the Teide peak with the lateral Pico Viejo crater at a lower height, which is actually the younger of the two volcanoes. The sides of the volcano are covered in may layers of lava flow material. The volcano lies within the Teide National Park and World Heritage Site.
