I believe 3-D models can transform a customer's flat online experience and alter it into a 3-D experience that would extend far beyond the capabilities of any online offering.
In class when we created the 3-D scanning of Cara and for my assignment I made a 3-d model of a toy car. Through this, I began to see the future of online shopping experience. Think about the possibilities of trying on clothing… 3-D models would finally address the number issues regarding fit and likeability. Also for car shopping this technology can help assist with instore retail as viewers could pre-plan shopping trips like car buying to make more informed purchases thereby increasing buyer conversion rate. This technology however could transform more than just the online retail sector.
