Asset Overview
This kind of pot is characteristic of the Early Bronze Age period. Produced by experimental potter Juan Ignacio Jiménez Rivero and based upon an example from Stuart Piggott's 1952 book English Prehistoric Pottery. Made with natural clay from Manchester and tempered with sieved quartz sand. Produced using a coil technique and then the all over corded pattern made with nettle cordage woven by Dr Nick Overton. Pit fired in a reductive atmosphere.
