This ancient Bison skull - perhaps *B. antiquus* or an early form of *B. bison*, was recovered from the plains of northern Colorado. Ongoing research will seek to determine how old the specimen is. By assessing the animal's age, we will assess whether it is an Ice Age animal that predates human occupation in N. America, or whether it may be associated with the ancient buffalo hunting traditions of the Great Plains.
