Package Overview

Basalt Columns and Rocks Kit PBR - Obsidian

Description: This 19 part Kit allows you to build your own basalt rock structures with obsidian look. Or if you want, just use the included samples. You can create whole sceneries with the prefabricated parts in no time. The overall polycount is low and the asset is game ready, you can also subdivide it and use the included displacement maps for even more detail. While the mesh resolution is low I added enough loops to make the formations deformable in the end, so you can add the nice bends that basalt sometimes shows! The sample screens are just plain geometry and normal mapping, IF you want to use displacement make sure you add some holding loops to avoid texture stretching.

All textures are high resolution 8k, feel free to create any lower resolution from it. The obsidian look is of course not native to basalt, but I think the geometric formations of basalt and the obisian material complement each other very well. I also included a texture variant with red/orange vains instead of the grey ones.

3d Asset suitable for all render engines and realtime render engines. A production ready Cycles scene for Blender is included.
