Asset Overview
Purple bornite (Cu-Fe sulfide), golden pyrite (Fe-sulfide), and blue covellite (Cu-sulfide) from Butte, MT. Most of the sample is bornite that sort of grades into covellite. The pyrite is, in places, tarnishing and has a hint of green color. Bornite is sometimes called "peacock ore" and often shows iridescence, but iridescence cannot be seen in this model.
