My blockout is a representation of a woodland street, crossing through the rural Appalchians in the fall season. As it is merely a rough blockout, I used octagonal prisms for a rough representation of trees, an extended plane as a road, and a converted plane of the road to represent the ground. My only challenge was actually Maya itself. I am very used to using Blender to model and those habits/techniques have followed me into Maya. I was constantly pressing keys that would in Blender help me speed up the process whereas in Maya it is unintuitive and clunky. A surprising difference between the two programs, as Blender being free and feeling a lot more user friendly (for 3D modeling at least) compared to an industry standard paid program like Maya. Anyways, that's my two cents about it. Still, managed to figure it out and get it done!
