Asset Overview
Cloontuskert is an early ecclesiastical site, traditionally founded by St Faithlec, the site has a large number of cross-slabs and inscribed stones from various periods located around the graveyard. - This is one of two medieval carved heads discovered at Cloontuskert. The face of this stone has an open mouth with a defined bridge and nose and circular eyes. There is some evidence of pebbling around the head which may be an attempt to represent a medieval head dress or mail
