Asset Overview

Edward Price (1836-1909) died in Thermalito, in northern California, at the age of 73. He had been working at the Odd Fellows Home up there. According to the Santa Cruz Surf, "Mr. Price was an early day citizen of Santa Cruz, being remembered by old timers as cook at the Cowell lime works in the fifties. He afterwards enlisted and served through the civil war as a soldier. He returned to Santa Cruz at the close of the war, and for several years was bookkeeper for the late R.C. Kirby. He was also for several years Deputy County treasurer. Mr. Price was an expert accountant a model bookkeeper and always a gentleman, in whatever occupation he was engaged, and is kindly remembered by all the older citizens."
