I made this in one day after looking to make a fun environment piece to put in future environment projects. I made sure to focus on edge flow to prevent weird geometry. The method of combining two cylindars is very simple and there are plenty of exaxmples so I won't elaborate on that but making sure that it combined correctly was a bit tricky since the boolean union command on Maya can be very tricky.
Note to beginners: do NOT use the boolean commands in Maya unless you know exactly how to fix it because it can and will give you messed up geometry that will be a nightmare later on. I recommend avoiding them entirely.
I had originally planned to bake some nuts and screws on using Xnormal but I decided to keep it simple since it is recognizable immediately and most players won't notice the lack of screws. A very good result, in my opinion. Quixel is so much fun to work with and i'm getting better and better.
