Asset Overview

[NM Ant 2340](http://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-mhm/web/object/3400133) Reported to have come from Persian palace in Persepolis, Iran Fragment of draped male head in low relief; the fragment is broken off so that only the larger part of the head and the upper part of the left shoulder is visible; the man is looking left; his head is draped in a turban/kuffiya-like garment, leaving only a triangular field of the face visible, from below the mouth to just above the left eye; the black stone is polished to a fine gloss adding depth to the face. The man might be a Mede, judging from the head-dress?
