This rock art panel is located in the Water Catchment area (06-00286) of the Palatki Cultural Heritage site. This site is located in the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest to the northwest of Sedona Arizona.
This panel has pictographs and petroglyphs created primarily by the Sinagua and Yavapai paleo and proto-historic native American cultures.
This model shows the central portion of Panel 1.
The black charcoal pictograph (element 1) is a variation of a "rake" symbol interpreted to represent rain, clouds and lightning. It is attributed to the Yavapai culture.
The scratches and groove petroglyphs are believed to have been created by the Sinagua, Yavapai and Western Apache cultures.
